SCT7272 – Satellite Communication Trainer
What is satellite communication?
You know there are many satellites flying in the sky above your head every minute. Why are those satellites there? For fun? Nah they are used to transmit signals between different places around the Earth.
There are three main parts of a satellite communication network
Uplink Transmitter
Satellite Transponder
Downlink Receiver
What is an Uplink Transmitter?
The uplink transmitter is located on Earth, and it is the source of the transmission. It could be a telecommunication company, a television channel, or even an office.
What is a Satellite Transponder?
A satellite transponder has both a receiver unit and a transmitter unit. It is located in space.
The uplink transmitter sends signals to the transponder’s receiver. The transponder communicates with the uplink transmitter using a specific frequency channel.
What is a Downlink Receiver?
This unit is located on Earth, far away from the uplink transmitter, sometimes thousands of kilometers away. It receives signals from the transponder. The transponder’s transmitter sends signals to the downlink receiver. The transponder and the downlink receiver communicate using the same frequency channel, but this frequency is different from the uplink frequency.
What is SCT7272 Satellite Communication Trainer
This unit is a professional solution for learners and teachers to study satellite communication functions. It is a UK-made product that provides a clear and practical understanding of satellite communication.
